module 1: introduction and class i

Biomechanical principles and diagnostics of aligners. How to start working with aligners. Treatment of crowding cases with IPR and/or transverse expansion will also be discussed.

  • Biology of tooth movement with aligners.
  • Biomechanical principles of aligners.
  • Workflow and communication with technicians and case monitoring.
  • “Upload your first case”. Dental photography.
  • Therapeutic decision making in treatments with aligners.
  • Advanced diagnosis. CBCT integration.
  • Class I treatment. Severe crowding and midline deviation.
  • IPR management in aligner treatment.
  • Treatment in the transverse plane. Expansion.
Module 2: CLASS II TREATMENT

This module will discuss the treatment of Class II with extractions, distalization with and without auxiliary appliances, and with mandibular advancement.

  • Treatment of dental class II of maxillary, mandibular and bimaxillary origin.
  • Upper distalization, extractions and mesialization.
  • Protocols / Step-by-step distalization with maximum anchorage and with medium anchorage.
  • Power Bar First protocol.
  • Mandibular advancement.
Module 3: CLASS III, VERTICALS, AND CASE FINISHING

Module 3 will cover protocols for distalization of the lower arch as well as protocols for the treatment of malocclusions in the vertical plane and completion with aligners and occlusal adjustment.

  • Class III treatment.
  • Treatment in the vertical plane.
  • Protocols / Step-by-step distalization with maximum anchorage and with medium anchorage.
  • Completion with aligners. Selective wear and intercuspidation.
  • Functional treatment with aligners.
  • Retention and correction of relapse.
Module 4: MARPE, TAD, and Orthognathic Surgery

Module 4 will deal with the treatment of extreme transverse discrepancy treated with micro-screws, MARPE or orthognathic surgery.

  • MARPE, BAME.
  • Treatments with surgery. Digital planning of orthognathic surgery.
  • Microimplants. Digital design of surgical guide and placement protocol.
Module 5: HYBRID TREATMENTS

How to make the unpredictable predictable? This module will discuss the use of auxiliary devices or springs, mini-tubes and elastics with aligners.

  • Hybrid treatments. Sectionals, mini-tubes.

In the last module we will focus on digital smile planning for preprosthetic cases and the use of aligners in periodontal patients, retained teeth and the use of digitally guided corticotomies to perform accelerated orthodontics.
